Dental Fee Questions

Why are NobleDentist fees much less than usual dental fees?

There are several reasons that NobleDentist fees are much less than usual dental fees.

  1. NobleDentist refers thousands of members to participating dentists throughout Australia. Dentists therefore save money on advertising to attract patients. They can then pass on savings to members.
  2. Dentists sometimes have appointment slots that do not get filled by patients. It is therefore better that the dentist has members fill those slots even though it is for lesser fees.
  3. NobleDentist refers thousands of members to participating dentists throughout Australia. Dentists are therefore willing to treat our members for more affordable fees.
  4. Many dentists realise that high dental fees are detracting people from visiting dentists. They therefore feel it is prudent to be a part of NobleDentist and assist people to save money on their treatment.

Is the dental fee schedule current and up-to-date?

Yes. The dental fees on the NobleDentist website are updated at the beginning of each calendar year.

I understand I will be paying less for my dental fees. Will I be treated the same as a full fee paying patient?

I can’t see the treatment or item number I need on the dental fee schedule. Where do I find it?

NobleDentist has listed the dental fees for the most common treatment required by most members when visiting a participating dentist. There are however so many different treatments. Any treatment not listed within the dental fee schedule will be reduced by 15% off the usual dental fee at the participating dentist.

What savings are offered for cosmetic dentistry?

If you wish to get cosmetic treatment then joining NobleDentist would be incredibly beneficial considering the expense for cosmetic treatment. The dental fees are reduced by 15% to 55% depending on exactly what cosmetic treatment you require. You will certainly save a substantial amount on dental fees and still have plenty time on your membership for future dental treatment you may wish to receive.

I found a dentist who charges lesser fees than NobleDentist. Is that possible?

Yes - there are some dentists that have lower fees than NobleDentist but be careful.

Whilst we do not wish to comment on these dentists, we assure you that our participating dentists do not cut corners. Our dental fees are the minimum that should be charged in order to provide patients a high level of patient care and yet still be affordable.

If dental fees are cheaper at non-participating dental practices, we would be very concerned. Some dentists may use inferior dental materials making the dental fees cheaper initially but will cost you more money over time as you continually have to return to the dentist to address the issue as a result of the inferior materials.

Some dentists may also charge you very little or nothing at all for certain incidentals such as consultations, exams, and x-rays to get you in the door then charge you much more for the treatment you require.

Our participating dentists use very good dental materials, conduct themselves ethically, implement a high level of hygiene standards, have been very well trained, continue to receive ongoing training, employ highly trained dental nurses and other designated support staff.

We monitor very closely the feedback from members. If there are queries raised, we address them quickly. As a result of feedback from members, we also nominate whether a participating dentist is 'Recommended' or 'Highly Recommended'. This is designed to assist you when choosing a participating dentist.

I have dental health insurance (e.g. extras cover). How would it work with NobleDentist membership?

Simple - you will benefit twice over. Here’s how you do it step by step.

  1. Join NobleDentist by clicking on Join Now.
  2. Visit a participating dental clinic and use your NobleDentist membership.
  3. (Important: Do not use your dental health insurance within the participating dental clinic.)

  4. Ask the dentist/receptionist to provide you with a receipt itemising all the treatment you received including the tooth/teeth that received treatment.
  5. After leaving the participating dental clinic, you claim your rebate directly from your private dental health insurer using the receipt given to you by the participating dental clinic.

Let’s look at an example and how you benefit twice over.

  • Amanda visits a participating dentist and her total treatment is $1,500. As a member of NobleDentist her fees are reduced to $1,100.
  • She makes payment to the participating clinic of $1,100 making a saving of $400 and collects her receipt itemising her treatment and noting the tooth/teeth that was treated.
  • After leaving the dental clinic, Amanda then claims the rebate directly from the private health insurer. In Amanda’s case her insurance cover allows up to $1,000.

With the reduced NobleDentist fee of $1,100 and private health rebate of $1,000 Amanda’s out-of-pocket expense is $100.
